The Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center is the most popular bird watching centers in the area.  A raised wheelchair accessible boardwalk extends into the cattails for a close-up encounter with Mother Nature. Weekly guided birding tours are offered free of charge every Wednesday at 9AM. Keep an eye out for the resident alligators during your visit!

Located at the end of Park Road 22, Padre Island National Seashore sits on 130,000 acres of undeveloped beaches and natural habitat making it an exceptional place for bird watching. Bird tours are usually daily between November & April. There is also a basic birding skills class every Wednesday and Saturday for those who willing to learn.

Located on the Nueces River, Hazel Bazemore Park offers hawk watchers and bird enthusiasts a prime location to see birds migrate. Each spring and fall people gather to watch thousands of hawks fly overhead. The 77.6-acre park also includes a wetland, pond, and woodlands.
